Shopify DevelopmentWe build Shopify apps with AI inside them - bulk product content, catalog enrichment, natural-language search, support assistants - either as a private app for your own store or as a public App Store product other merchants pay for.
The AI is a means, not the point. Each of these is a workflow that currently costs someone hours a week, and the app is judged on whether it actually removes those hours.
When AI is the right tool for the job
AI earns its place where the work is repetitive, light on judgement, and there is enough data to do it from. Everywhere else it is an expensive way to get an unreliable answer.
Worth building
The cases where AI does work a person should not have to:
Thousands of products need descriptions, titles, meta descriptions or specifications written or rewritten
Product data is incomplete - missing attributes, inconsistent specifications, no tags, poor categorisation
Customers search in sentences rather than keywords, and exact-match search sends them away empty-handed
Support answers the same questions daily from information Shopify already holds - orders, stock, shipping, returns, policies
Supplier catalogs arrive in whatever shape the supplier chose, and someone normalises them by hand
Other merchants have the same problem you do, and you want the solution on the App Store
What you get
An app embedded in the Shopify admin, with the AI work running as background jobs instead of blocking a screen
Bulk generation and enrichment with your brand voice and formatting rules enforced, and a review step before anything publishes
Semantic search, recommendations, similar products and intelligent autocomplete where discovery is the problem
Assistants that answer from your Shopify data, knowledge base and documentation rather than from the model's general knowledge
Translation and localisation workflows that keep a human in the loop where brand accuracy matters
For a public app: multi-tenant architecture, Shopify OAuth install, subscription or usage-based billing, merchant dashboards, team management and AI usage controls
The repository, the hosting and the model provider account in your name
What we connect it to
An AI app is only as good as what it can see. We connect to Shopify through the Admin and Storefront APIs, webhooks, Functions and Flow, and to the systems holding the rest of the truth - ERP, PIM, CRM, warehouse management, DAM, marketing platforms, and in-house applications over their own APIs.
How we build it
We start from the workflow and the data behind it, before any model or vendor is chosen
Answers are retrieved from your own data where accuracy matters, so the app is grounded in your catalog rather than generating from nothing
Background jobs, queues, caching and rate-limit handling, because catalog-scale work is not a request-and-response problem
Output evaluated against realistic cases before it runs across the whole catalog, with a review step wherever one belongs
Usage and cost visible per job, so you can see what a run costs before starting it
Deployed, monitored, and refined as models, Shopify and your requirements change
Frequently Asked Questions
Private app or public App Store app?
Private if it solves your store's problem and nobody else's; public if other merchants have the same problem and you want it to earn revenue. We'll tell you honestly which one your idea is.
Who pays for the AI usage?
The model provider account is registered in your name and billed to you directly, and the app tracks usage so you can see the cost per job before running it across the whole catalog.
Can you get the app through App Store review?
Yes - we build to Shopify's requirements, including OAuth, billing, and data handling, and guide the app through review.
